If you’re considering group tattoos while you’re in town, here’s what you need to know to make it smooth for everyone involved.

Plan Ahead

Safe House Tattoo Studio is primarily an appointment-based studio. Group tattoos take coordination, time, and intention, so planning ahead is key.

Start by completing our online booking request form. In the form, be sure to:

  • Note how many people are in your group

  • Describe the design idea (or confirm that everyone wants the same design)

  • Upload any reference images

  • Share approximate size and placement ideas

  • Select “No Preference” for Artist (we’ll assign based on availability)

This gives us a heads-up so we can schedule enough time and pair your group with the right artist(s).

Timing: What to Expect

As a general rule, plan 30–60 minutes per person. This includes:

  • Station setup and reset between clients

  • Stencil placement and adjustments

  • Working with each person individually to confirm placement and sizing

Even if everyone is getting the same design, each body is different. Our artists take the time to make sure each person feels good about where and how their tattoo is placed. If you’re working with a tight travel schedule, build in more time than you think you’ll need.

Group Tattoo Designs

Group tattoos are smoothest when everyone wants the same or very similar design. Matching or repeatable tattoos allow the artist to work efficiently while still giving each person individual attention.

The best group tattoo designs tend to be:

  • Line-based or simple imagery

  • Under 4 inches

  • Repeatable designs

  • Able to be drawn or adjusted in under 30 minutes

Artists & Scheduling for Group Tattoos

Depending on the size of your group and artist availability, we may schedule one or two artists to help tattoo your group. Tattoos may happen one at a time or simultaneously, depending on how the appointment is set up. If we’re working with two artists, their stations may not be next to each other, as available tattoo stations can be located in different areas of the studio. We do our best to keep groups comfortable and connected, but flexibility goes a long way in keeping the day running smoothly.

If each person in the group wants a different design, plan for at least one hour per person. In these cases, submitting reference images ahead of time is especially important so artists can prepare appropriately. Depending on the size of the group and the complexity of the designs, multiple artists may be needed to accommodate everyone within a reasonable timeframe.

Walk-In Availability

Walk-in availability at Safe House Tattoo Studio is limited and is best confirmed by calling or texting the day of. If you’re hoping to get a full group tattooed, we highly recommend planning ahead and submitting a booking request form.

Submitting an appointment request is the best way to ensure we can:

  • Allocate enough time

  • Staff appropriately

  • Create a relaxed, positive experience for your whole group

Tattoo Deposit & Cost

Safe House Tattoo Studio has a $150 minimum. With group tattoos, this is typically what each person can expect unless the design is larger or more detailed. To book an appointment, we require a $100 deposit, which is applied toward the final total. Each person is checked out individually at the end of their tattoo, but the group can coordinate how the deposit is applied across individual totals.

Safe House Tattoo Studio is located about 15 minutes from downtown Nashville, just off Gallatin Pike - the main road running from downtown through East Nashville. We have plenty of free, easy parking behind the building.
