Walk-In Tattoos at Safe House Tattoo Studio
Walk-In Tattoos at Safe House Tattoo Studio
Safe House Tattoo Studio is known as a custom tattoo studio which means most of our work is appointment-based so artists have time to create designs specific to each client.
Because we operate this way, all of our artists aren’t always on site unless they have appointments scheduled. That said, there are often gaps between appointments, last-minute cancellations, or days where artists have open availability.
When that happens, we do take walk-ins!
If you’re hoping to get tattooed TODAY – or even tomorrow – here’s what you should know before reaching out.
SHOP HOURS & SHOP MINIMUM
We’re open Tuesday-Saturday, 11am-6pm, and the last appointment of the day will need to begin around 5pm. We are closed Sunday and Monday.
Our shop minimum is $150. Pricing may increase based on size, placement, and detail.
The Best Way to Check Same-Day Availability
If you’re hoping to come in today, the fastest way to reach us is to call or text the studio.
Our online booking form is great for planned appointments, but it isn’t ideal for time-sensitive requests.
When you contact us, it helps to include:
A photo or description of what you want
Size and placement
Your availability that day
We’ll let you know honestly what’s possible. If we can’t make it happen, we’ll either suggest another date or recommend another reputable shop. Our goal is always the same – making sure you end up with a tattoo you’re excited about.
What Works Best for Walk-In Tattoos
Walk-ins at Safe House tend to go most smoothly when the design can be prepared quickly or drawn the same day without extensive planning.
Great walk-in ideas include:
Lettering or script
Fine line designs
Small symbols or simple imagery
Minimalist tattoos
Pre-selected reference images
Simple traditional designs
If you already know what you want and it doesn’t require a lot of design time, there’s a much better chance we can make it happen when availability opens up.
While most walk-in designs can be completed by any artist and are assigned based on availability, there are some designs that lean more towards some artist’s styles then others. Check out our artist’s portfolios to see if there is someone you’d think would be a good match for your project.
What Usually Requires an Appointment
More complex tattoos typically need a scheduled appointment so the artist can design properly and give the piece the attention it deserves.
This includes:
Large pieces that may need multiple sessions
Highly detailed work, including tattoos that are fitting around existing work
Cover-ups
Projects involving multiple elements
Custom illustrative designs
Full color realism or heavy shading
When artists have openings for larger projects, they’ll usually post availability on Instagram or post flash designs they’d like to tattoo. We always recommend following both the studio Instagram and individual artist Instagram profiles (found on their portfolio pages), since that’s where availability announcements, flash releases, and last-minute openings are shared first.
Flash Tattoos at Safe House
Some studios operate primarily on flash. We’re a little different.
Because our artists focus heavily on custom work, we keep a smaller selection of pre-drawn flash in the studio. However, artists do occasionally create flash sheets or post available designs on Instagram, and those can often be done as walk-ins if timing works out.
Planning for Larger Custom Work
While many tattoos can be designed from a clear description and reference photos, some projects benefit from a consultation. This gives you and the artist time to talk through ideas, placement, scope, and whether multiple sessions may be needed.
Submit your idea, and we’ll connect with the artists to determine the best next steps for your project.
